Joining is Easy
The FCGOP depends on our one annual fund raiser and membership dues and donations to do our work. What is our work? Our work is to help strong, conservative Republicans get elected to office. Our meetings help to inform and provide political camaraderie and conversation. But ultimately our job is to help get the right people into the right office.
We depend on our members to contribute the amount they can towards their membership. Our members come from many different financial situations and we recognize you live on a budget. In a perfect world, everyone would be rich and everyone would be a Platinum Elephant Member. But the world is not perfect and we ask that you just join as a member at the level most comfortable for you.
Last year we attempted to make membership easier for you. We implemented an online program that allows you to give towards your membership on a monthly basis. Giving $10 a month is often much easier than giving $100 for an annual membership. Our online program is easy to use and is safe and confidential. We encourage you to give to your active membership on a monthly basis. Once you have started, there is no need to worry about the expiration of your membership.

City Council Meeting

Ordinances
All ordinances pertained to zoning changes.
Resolution
A resolution was passed honoring Hope Health serving 60K patients, with 12 locations in the local area and employing 420 workers.
Reports to Council
Utilities Report a project update was given on all water and sewer projects using RISE (the new city website). The new water quality supervisor Sarah Hickman was introduced; she will be focused on improving water clarity issues.
City Noise Ordinance an existing ordinance states that noise that negatively affects others is generally prohibited. Similar ordinances are based on decibel levels and different times of day. These levels are generally based on 55 decibels for residential and 70 decibels for industrial.
FLOC Cameras two cameras mounted on trailers have been added to the city police force. These cameras will be used at special events to provide extra surveillance.
Fireworks over Florence were officially viewed by 9,360 with thousands more parked outside the soccer complex.

Thirty-six (36) Spring time athletes in softball, tennis and track were honored for regional and state awards.
Region 5 AAAA Baseball Coach of the Year – James Smith (city council member).
Region 5 AAAA Tennis Coach of the Year – Frederick Davis
State Boys Track Coach of the Year – Jackie Foxe, Jr.
Public Participation
Charles Fox requested a copy of SOP FF90 which calls for the superintendent to establish specific procedures for naming school facilities. He contends that the Williams Middle School gymnasium should have been named in honor of John P Cary.
Action items
A memo of understanding was approved by the board to establish a Spanish Immersion program at West Florence High School. The program will allow interested Spanish students to attend school in a total cultural experience.
The board heard the first reading of a SOP for Admission of Nonresident Students. The procedure will define the requirements for students outside F1 to attend in the district.
